A.C.E. Alien Cleanup Elite is a very classic old school action game. Aliens have infested the cities of the world and it is your task to clean it up. That means grab your guns and shoot them aliens to smithereens. But beware: One hit and you're done for!
The entire game is supposed to bring you back to the old coin-op arcade machines. There are no menus, no options and especially no easy mode. The game is brutally hard and doesn't make any excuses about it.
Levels are procedurally generated and the game features online highscores to compete with other players from all around the world. If that sounds right up your alley head over to Game Jolt or itch.io to buy this game.
One of the last games I developed for Wii U was something I didn't understand why nobody did it already. And perhaps games like that existed and I had no idea. The concept of the game is based on the old arcade coin-ops but with procedurally generated levels one could play forever - as long as you don't die. I went for a full on 90s styled game. That meant 90s graphics, music and design. Everything was supposed to be this edgy and cheesy stereotypical 90s cliché and to that end I'd say the game is a complete success. The online highscores are fun to compete with other players as well. The console version even has a two player co-op mode and was released on March 16th 2017 on the Nintendo Wii U eShop. The Game Jolt version is single player only, however it does have a few tweaks and enhancements over the console version. It was released on April 17th 2017 for PC, Mac and Linux.
